Historic Hong Kong photographs available for viewing online at the Hong Kong Image Database of HKU
Hungarian Photographer Dezső Bozóky's historic Hong Kong photographs are now available online at the Hong Kong Image Database for public viewing. This collaborative project between The University Museum and Art Gallery and the Hong Kong Image Database of HKU Libraries features 58 historical images from 1900s era Hong Kong. 30 of these photographs are currently on display in the Pictures of the Past: Hungarian Photographer Dezső Bozóky in Hong Kong at UMAG from now until January 8, 2017. Bozóky (1871-1957) took approximately 1,500 photographs across East Asia, including in China, Korea and Japan; a total of 58 images were shot in Hong Kong. His archive forms a collective memory of a colonial Hong Kong that has largely vanished from the landscape.

HKU Museum showcases the world's largest collection of Nestorian Crosses
More than 700 pieces of re-installed Nestorian Crosses from the Yuan dynasty will be on view at the University Museum and Art Gallery (UMAG) from June 10, 2015 onwards. A series of events will be held, which includes an international 3-day conference on Jing Jiao on June 10 – 12, 2015 and a public talk on Christianity in China in the Tang and Yuan Dynasties on June 13, 2015. HKU's Nestorian crosses were collected by Mr. F. A. Nixon who served as a British postal commissioner in Beijing in the 1930s and 1940s. The collection was subsequently acquired by the Lee Hysan Foundation and donated to Hong Kong University in 1961.

Knowledge Exchange Awards 2014
The Faculty Knowledge Exchange (KE) Awards were introduced in 2011 in order to recognize each Faculty's outstanding KE accomplishment that has made demonstrable economic, social or cultural impacts to benefit the community, business/industry, or partner organizations. Following the successful launch of the Faculty KE Awards, the KE Award (Non-Faculty Unit) was introduced in 2012 with the same objective for the independent centres, institutes and units of the University. Results of the 2014 KE Awards are now available.

HKU holds ''Refuse the Shadows of the Past: Five Years of Austrian Art Made in China'' exhibition
HKU Museum and Art Gallery has organized an exhibition to showcase artworks by 27 Austrian artists. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Austrian Consulate General in Hong Kong and Macau, and the Austrian initiative Embassy of the Arts. The exhibition is a commemorative exhibition that celebrates the fifth anniversary of artistic creation and transformation by Austrian and other international artists working in China.

Icelandic paintings exhibition held at HKU Museum and Art Gallery
The HKU Museum and Art Gallery has organized an exhibition titled ''Ingenious Iceland: Twentieth-Century Icelandic Paintings from the Anthony J Hardy Collection'', which is held until November 24, 2013. Over 80 Icelandic paintings, sculptures and drawings from the collection are on display.

A Night at the Museum of Art with Andy Warhol: A unique experience of an overnight event for secondary students
The Hong Kong Museum of Art opened up its doors for the first time at night on February 22 and March 8 for ''A Night at the Museum of Art with Andy Warhol'', an innovative programme co-organised by The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMA). The event drew some 600 secondary school students from 56 local schools to the Art Museum.
