HKU Students Explore Startup Ecosystem at Techno-Entrepreneur Academy in Qianhai
More than 50 students from The University of Hong Kong took the opportunity to visit the HKU Techno-Entrepreneur Academy (TEA) at Qianhai on 8 January 2025. The event, organised by the HKU Centre of Development and Resources for Students (HKU Cedars), served as a remarkable platform for our students to dive into the vibrant startup and entrepreneurial landscape.

Celebrating 2024's HKU International Techno-Entrepreneurship Challenge Grand Finale
On 11 January 2025, the 2024 HKU International Techno-Entrepreneurship Challenge Grand Finale successfully concluded at the Lee Shau Kee Lecture Centre, The University of Hong Kong, with a live online broadcast.
From a pool of 259 global cutting-edge tech projects, the “Top 19” finalists advanced from six divisions—Hong Kong and Overseas, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Chengdu—competing for ultimate glory.
The event featured an esteemed panel of government officials, academic experts, and leaders from pioneering tech enterprises as judges. Their profound expertise and forward-looking insights provided valuable guidance, helping participants push the boundaries of innovation and entrepreneurship.

HKU Students and Alumni at Hong Kong Techathon+ 2025
The Hong Kong Techathon+ 2025, was a shining testament to the wealth of innovation and talent across universities in Hong Kong. This competition, conducted by The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks, witnessed a record-breaking participation of over 1,800 individuals and more than 380 project teams.
We are proud to have numerous HKU members be a part of this competition. The dedication, creativity, and innovative spirit demonstrated by our students was nothing short of inspiring.
